The LEDs shine in all directions around the lantern, bathing a wide area in diffuse white light, providing even illumination without harsh shadows or glare. It emits 300 lumens on the high setting or 50 lumens on low, just enough to light your way without wasting power. It also has an attention-getting flash setting for emergencies. The energy-efficient Nichia LEDs help ensure long battery life, running continuously on a single set of batteries for up to 25 hours on the high setting or 135 hours on low.

You can carry the lantern by the loop handle, which has a textured rubberized coating for grip, or hang it from a hook that folds into the base. It stands 7 1/2″ tall and weighs about 2 lb with batteries – heavier than you’d want in your backpack on a long hike, but it’s a practical choice for family camping or home use.
